Why did I get this text or email?
You asked a local company about snow removal or lawn care, and now a text from an unfamiliar number says your quote is ready. That’s normal — here’s what’s going on and how to be sure.
Your provider sends quotes through their software
Companies using SnowTracker send quotes by text and email so you can read, accept, and pay online. The message names the company — it looks like “Company name: your quote is ready. View it here:” followed by a link.
What a legitimate quote link looks like
The link opens a page carrying the company’s own name and branding, describing your property and the services you actually asked about. Nothing is charged by opening it, nothing is committed until you explicitly accept, and you can just as easily decline.
Still unsure? Verify the old-fashioned way
Contact the company directly — using the phone number or email you already have for them, not one from the message — and ask if they sent you a quote. A real provider will happily confirm.
