How do snow removal seasons work?
A season is the annual window your seasonal contracts cover. You set it once per service — it repeats every year, so there’s no year to pick and nothing to roll over each fall.
Set the window on the service’s page
The Snow Removal Season section (on Settings → Services → Snow Removal) takes a start and end as month + day — the classic default is Oct 1 to Mar 31. Winters wrap past New Year’s naturally; the year is irrelevant.
The section appears when you sell packages
Seasons belong to seasonal contracts, so the Season section only shows once you have at least one package. A purely on-demand operation has no season to configure — that’s by design, not a missing setting.
“Still provided past season end”
The switch for continuing service past the end date covers late-season storms: your contracts nominally end Mar 31, but an April dump still gets serviced. Turn it on if that’s how you operate.
Seasons drive your customer list
The season columns on Customers exist because of these windows — each customer’s season cell (quoted, accepted, paid, and how) is anchored to the service’s season. No window for a service means no season column for it.
Every package inherits the window
Individual packages don’t carry their own dates — they inherit the service’s season. Change the window once and every seasonal contract, quote, and season column follows.
What happens inside a season cell — payments, overrides, cash pending — is covered in “How do season payments and overrides work?”.
